The Red area is the core zone of the Marine
park which has the highest value of variety
marine file. Dive sites are mostly located here.
The
Nha Trang Bay is one of the 29th most beautiful
Bays in the world thanks to its beauty and its
high biodiversity value. The Bay is home to the
most beautiful coral reefs of Vietnam. Though
not as large as The Great Barrier Reef in
Australia, and may not have as thrilling marine
life as other bays, thanks to the high
biodiversity concentration, the Bay is a humble
area, home to over 350 species of hard coral
(45% of all coral species worldwide). With the
variety of the coral
are a range of marine
species that may be found in warm water areas.
Also the mountainous seascape is home to
colonies of the sea swallow salagane, famous for
birds nest soup!
Corals develop on rocks. They live and grow in
the shallow and warm currents of tropical
oceans. Coral can catch plankton using stinging
cells on their tentaes. Each year many species
can grow only 1 centimeter: it takes thousands
of years to form a coral reef as it is now.
